2026 U.S. Generic & Biosimilar Medicines Savings Report

Thursday September 10, 2026

The 2026 U.S. Generic & Biosimilar Medicines Savings Report is live!

In 2025, savings from the use of biosimilars rose considerably, to $25.4 billion. And since their entry to market in 2015, biosimilars have generated $81.6 billion in savings for America’s patients and the U.S. healthcare system.

“Despite recent wins in overall savings, streamlining, and interchangeability, the U.S. biosimilars industry continues to face challenges such as IRA price negotiation, dysfunctional pricing dynamics, and PBM distortions. And in the U.S., biosimilars manufacturers face more patent challenges than in other countries. These headwinds severely cut down the quantity of affordable treatment options for patients, forcing some to decide between paying rent or paying for medical care.”
Alex Keeton, Executive Director, Biosimilars Council
